The Trust's initiative will involve discussion with landowners and therefore we would welcome contact from anyone who owns or manages land within the Clay Farmlands area. We would welcome information from landowners, residents and local businesses that are already promoting wildlife-friendly farming or providing visitor facilities. In fact, we'd welcome contact from anyone interested in helping to achieve the protection and improvement of the Clay Farmlands area.
We are currently undertaking an initial assessment of the wildlife, farming, historical, cultural and recreational resources in the Clay Farmlands area. This will be available for consultation in due course. We will be sharing the findings of the investigation with the many user groups and individuals throughout the area, thus ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to comment. By co-ordinating our efforts as part of a wider scheme, with the involvement of landowners, statutory bodies and the general public, it will be possible to attract additional funding from a wider range of sources. This will allow the area to be better-enjoyed and appreciated. It will also promote a wider awareness of this fascinating landscape and motivate its greater protection.
